Valentines Day

In our relationship, we've never really bought into the whole "romantic Valentines Day" thing. The one time we did, it ended in disaster! Me almost breaking my bones and losing my wallet, stuff like that! Its just not who we are as a couple and that one Valentines day solidified that. Some people do the whole dinner out and couple only thing, wining and dining, ya no, not me, not him, not us. We are kind of lucky that we are alike in those kind of ways! We are a more of a have fun, make the most of EVERYDAY kind of couple and include the people we love if possible! We spoil each other when ever we get the chance not just on one specific day. Which leads me to what Im about to say and reveal the plans Im about to reveal!

Im so excited.

We have these really good friends, we both used to live in Cali and we attended each others weddings and stuff like that...we are having children together (at the same time), we both have 2 boys around the same age. They moved and then we moved. We talk just about everyday, me and her are almost the same person. Her hubs and mine, have been friends for over 10 years, through hockey. We miss each other so.

Working in the hockey world has provided us with sooo many opportunities, going and getting engaged in Hawaii, other trips to tons of other states and now it has brought the opportunity for hubs to go up North San Fransisco style and guess who lives up there? Our dear friends! So you better believe that hubs and I jumped on that! I right away, bought our plane tickets, called our friends and let them know that we are on our way come Valentines Day Weekend!

Girlfriend is so excited too that she took Friday off of work so me and her can have an all girls day and leave the boys with the boys!

We are all soo excited for that weekend! I just love San Fransisco!

Some Saturday Fun

Yesterday we decided to go to the Shark Reef over at Mandalay Bay. The kids love fish and stuff like that so we thought it would be a fun family adventure. We got there and went in and both kids were scared out of their minds! Then Oliver finally loosened up when it came time to see/pet the stingrays! Go figure! Then Jack loosened up as well and found his favorite fish! I didn't catch the name! Bad mommy.

Oliver telling Jack...look its not so bad, man up dude!
You mean I actually get to pet these weird looking things?...umm I'll pass.
Jack totally amazed with some crazy looking fish!

My Oli just walking around finding some new friends ...hes best at that!

Pointing and laughing at the sharks....I guess he doesnt quite know that you dont mess with sharks. Hes the only person I know that can get a rats nest in the back of his hair by just sitting down, no matter how many times is spray conditioner and brush it, it always comes back!

**I was a little angry because I accidentally forgot to change my lense in my camera so the lense I had was hardly ideal for shooting at the aquarium so I was unable to get as many pictures as I would have liked! Boo....

My Mall Venture Finds

So me and the boys have been cooped up in the house for a while because one of us was always sick. This past week it was me! I was sick of it! So I decided to take a trip to the mall. Last night I was trying to shop for the baby but unfortunately I could settle buying one thing from each online store and paying $10+ on shipping for each site! The only thing I actually bought last night was the cutsie beanies!

Today I thought I would have better luck and I did! Take a look, and what do you know, I found that green outfit at Nordstroms!

These two little outfits I actually got at Dillards...I always find the greatest things there for the boys, not so much for the little baby girls!
Then I bought me a new wallet....my other one was a Hello Kitty one too but Ive had it forever! At the Hello Kitty Store at Fashion Show they have the best stuff! Its Vintage Kittiy they call it!
The inside....cute hot pink....I had already put all my stuff inside it! Too excited about it, not to mention I needed something to do on my resting intervals at the mall!

Then Im so proud of myself! In a few weeks is one of my lil sis inlaws birthdays, she will be 17 years old! The past year of moving and remodeling, Ive been off my birthday game, forgetting bdays and not putting thought in to gifts and stuff like that! Let me say, Im normally the best gift giver, every one loves my gifts, well, because I love buying/giving gifts! I got the cute hello kitty make up case with, some earings, a coin pouch and some MAC make up. I also bought a cute hello kitty pen that I just found hiding in one of the other bags that didnt get pictured and Im gonna get her these cute bow headbands I saw at Target! Now to just send it out!
That was my tiring day at the mall, with some great finds! Im exhausted.

OMG OMG OMG...THE CRIB BEDDING!!

So I just got an email for Sheila with CribSewCreations.com telling me that shes almost done with my crib bedding and that she will be sending it out next week. She attached a picture of it for me to see!

OH MY!!.....I absolutely love it! For my new followers, I won this crib bedding designed by me and Sheila over at Little Miss Heirlooms in a giveaway! I couldnt find a bedding I wanted to go with my theme for the room and everything else I did find was just too darn stinking expensive! Of all things I won this great giveaway, really the greatest thing ever. Hubs still remembers me checking the winner and he was sitting right next to me and I jumped up and started punching him, yelling "I WON I WON!!!" He had no clue what on earth I was talking about.

So I will share the picture with you all! I will have it, in a few weeks in my crib and share new pictures of Quinn's room!

Shopping

So I decided since Quinn only has 4 outfits total in her huge closet and nothing else, it was time to stop being in denial and start a shoppin'! So I went to my online go to shops (I normally shop these for the boys) and only found a few things. Im a little disappointed. I did find a new Etsy shop for little headbands and hats that was too cute! Im sooo picky when it comes to baby/kids clothes, I thought with a girl it would be easy, with my own girl, not so much. Again beyond picky. For my babyshower Im asking for just clothes and jams because I have everything else, but I started wondering if I should really put that kind of pressure on these people! They all know my tastes in kids clothes, well they should. Anywho, since I didnt want to chance bringing baby home naked, I decided to shop a little, too bad I found just about nada.

Heres what I DID find.....

Got this from TuttiBella.com...it says Dream Girl..too cute!

I got these cute things at BriarClairs Etsy shop...they are having a sale right now!

These are all I found on Olliebollen.com, this is where I buy most of the boys clothes.

Theta Mom Thursday - Rest and Relaxation

So Time out for Theta Mom Thursday is hosted by Theta Mom....its a great concept for all us busy mommies. For an hour each month we have to take a mommy time out and do something for ourselves then on the last Thursday of each month, we can link up to Theta Mom and share our stories!

So this is actually something that I was forced in to doing...by my sweet hubs. I posted about it a bit ago but its perfect for this. With all my pregnancy pain, hubs recommended going to his physical therapist. I went, it was great!

I go twice a week and we do pilates and then I get an awesome 20 minute massage by the doctor, not your normal physical therapy visits, at least to my knowledge! I do limited pilates on the reformer based on what I CAN actually do without biggol belly getting in the way, it really helps with my sciatic nerve pain which is never ending! As do the massages, the greatest thing is that the doctor is a big talkaholic and so my massages run until hes done talking! This is possible because with hubs schedule at work, I take the last appointment available for the day!

There are times when I feel its easier to just not go, dinner has to be made, kids are a wreck, mommy stuff, but the hubs always reminds me that I work hard and I need this time out!

**Another perk is that the guy that does the instructor for the Pilates is kind of hot along with the doctor that gives me my massages, hes not too bad either....the best is its all covered by our insurance...its about time they pay up!

Finally!! The babys room...just about

Finally the babys room is just about done! I didnt want to not post pictures until it was ALL done because who knows when that would be! So here it is....Im happy with it! Oh and remember, there is no bedding, Im still waiting for it!!!

In this picture you can pretty much see the whole room...on the right of the crib on the wall is a little wall hanging to hang blankies because Im sure all moms know, you always need blankets, at all times. I just hung some of the boys blankets (which are old) so you get the just of it. Im still looking for more white blankets, they are hard to come by. Im also still looking for more to put on that wall, I cant decide.

I also still need to find pictures to put in the frames on the dresser.

Hope you enjoyed!!!

Guardian Angel.....So We Think - True Story Tuesday

Linking up with Rachel from Once Upon A Miraclefor this weeks True Story Tuesday!! You should check her out, she really is great!

This True Story has changed my views on flying in an air plane FOREVER!

About 2 years ago my husbands little brother, age 21 died unexpectedly and we flew out to the East Coast for the funeral and to be with family (majority of hubs family is on the East Coast). At the time, Jack was about 14 months old and I was about 7 months pregnant with Oliver. We went and it was time to come home.

Jack was a lap child and sitting on my lap. On the plane, business as usual, the seat belt sign was off and so people had their belts off. All of a sudden I got this urge to put my seat belt on, I dont know why. Then there was a little turbulence...nothing to be afraid of, thats the norm of flying, then seconds later we dropped about 5,000-10,000 feet from the air. People were tossed about the plane, people were hurt and bleeding, cuts and bumps on their heads and bodies, it really was that horrific. Luckily after we regained control and was back on track, there was a nurse on board to help every one. Everyone was shaken up and crying. All I imagined is where me and my baby would have been if I had not buckled up my belt. Jack, hubs and I were all fine, I had bad seat belt burn across my legs, hubs had just a small bump on his head. The other bleeding passengers were ok too.

Apparently, we were over the Rockies (mountains), it was about 8pm and there was a HUGE air pocket, the kind of air pocket takes planes down. I will always say that hubs little brother told me to put my seat belt on moments before the plane took its dive. I really feel that he made it possible for our pilot to regain control of the plane again too. Me and hubs little brother had a good relationship and were as close as we could be living thousands of miles apart. We were far from strangers and had just seen each other that Thanksgiving (this happened in Jan). Not sure who believe in this sort of thing, but hubs brother visits me periodically in dreams and such. Oliver has a small angels kiss and I say that hubs bro gave him that little kiss in the womb. My little neice who is the same age as Oliver has the same thing (hubs other brothers little girl, there are 9 bros and sis's)...we all say that Stephen (the brother that passed), let us know that he has his eye on them and let us know that he is ok as well.

Till this day flying has never been the same...any type of turbulence freaks me the heck out. I will always have my seat belt on, try to never go to the restroom in the plane, stay strapped to my seat in fear. This has never been me, Ive been flying yearly in airplanes since I was born, literally. The last time I was on a plane I was by myself and I started tearing up just thinking about that incident.

I hope none of you has never had an experience like that!

MeMe Monday - Deal Breakers!

Im linking up with SupahMommy for her fun Meme Monday. Today it is Deal Breakers when involving a relationship.
A. List of your top 5 relationship dealbreakers. ( friend, family, in laws, etc)
or
B. Tell us about a time you experienced a DealBreaker.

1. Bad teeth...or breath. I mean Im not the pickiest when it comes to your teeth being super straight, but they have to be somewhat nice and well taken care of. If you cant take care of your teeth, Im sure theres much more your not taking care of.

2. Horrible family. Its not that you have to even have family but if you have the family that is just mean all the time and/or not friendly at all and not social, sorry, buh bye! Unless your ok with disowning them and starting new! haha

3. No interest in style. You dont have to be the best dressed but at least be open to suggestions. Sorry men, dont like to see you wearing the same shirt all the time or band t-shirts.

4. No interest in marriage. Hubs almost lost me to this...he had no interest what so ever in getting married. That was not part of my plan. But I guess he figured he couldnt live with out me! I didnt even have to bribe him or trick him by getting pregnant! Who does that?

5. Horrible friends. You know the kind of friends that never want anything good for him. The kind that want to keep him on their level, never growing, experiencing the good things in life, love. The manipulative kind. My last bf lost me to that. Then I left him and met hubs, and he comes back and says he dropped the friends that were bringing him down and hes bettering his life, blah blah blah. FYI - I always had the older BF's, so although I may have been young at this time, I had already known what I wanted in life and where I was going and he was 6 years my senior and hadn't had a clue, so sorry bud, too little too late!

Sick Day

Today was my sick day...not taken intentionally, wouldn't that be great though?

I woke up this morning so sick and not feeling well. Hubs said that he will be the designated parent today! We all went downstairs to eat and he was getting ready to make them eggs for all (sweet, he really is, he tries) but I was craving pancakes so I made them pancakes and said anything else they want he can make and he did! He even attempted my favorite eggs! After breakfast, he cleaned up the kitchen and told me to go lay down!

Then he gave the kids a bath and took them to the park for a big while! After the park, hubs brought back sleeping kids, lunch and Starbucks! What a day, even more, what a way to make a wifey feel special and better! So I went back up stairs, read and fell asleep.

Hubs was epoxying the floors on the remainder of the garage (he had only done the one car part and finally just got around to the two car garage). The boys and I woke up and we baked cookies, then the boys went out back to play while I layed down and caught up on my TIVO. Then hubs took the kids back out with him to run an errand so I could continue to rest!

I feel so blessed to have my hubs! Not only does he talk about how much he loves us, he shows us!!

Im feeling better already!

The Great Debate

Ok, I was on one of my fav blogs and a celebrity was saying that they dont have a TV in their home. She has a young son. She did say though that from time to time they will rent a movie but it was more of a, they just dont like the noise it brings rather than anything else.

So then the comments came to that blog. Some saying great, thats a great idea and some saying thats ridiculous and so forth. Whats your stance?

Here is mine. I know Ive shared this a time or two, but here it is in great, ok not so great, length.

We have three TV's in our home...scratch that 5 TV's. 3 in the loft (for football purposes), 1 in the Master bedroom and 1 downstairs in the family room. We dont mind TV we dont think its the worst thing ever, but as a family, we just dont have time for TV when hubs is home, and Im talking prime time shows, we do TIVO though! When hubs isnt home, I try to squeeze in my soaps while Im cooking dinner or if the boys are napping, once in a while I will leave the food network on if its a lazy day.

As for the children, their TV watching is VERY limited. Some days they go without it, like for instance they havent watched "their" shows since Thursday and they could really care less, if we put our shows on, they dont even pay attention. If and when they do watch TV, like I said its limited. I will only let them watch a few certain shows that are on Disney Channel and Nick Jr. We TIVO those shows so that they may watch them when its time and they are mainly learning shows. We let them watch, Wubbzy, Little Einsteins, Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Mickey Mouse Club House and the new one is Chuggington (not sure the educational value on that yet but Jack loves trains). Each show, we have noticed has brought some sort of new thought and has taught Jack something new in some way. Again WE are the ones that determine what he watches and when. They normally won't exceed an hour a day.

This is not to say that my way is the best way for all, because it clearly isnt, everyone has their own way. Something that I am sooo against is children who are put in front of the TV all day as a babysitter. We love crafts, building things, going to the park, playing outside, playing soccer, hockey, bikes and all that. Im really not sure if I will even be buying my children any sort of video games, why waste the money. I see children all the time out and about with their family, on their video games!! They will not put it down even when asked. One time, this is sad, our family was out to eat and there was a mother and son eating at a table for two, she on her blackberry and he on his game! I was a little shocked...can we as people make QUALITY time with each other for even a half hour?

We love family nights and we take full advantage of them, we either do lots of puzzles, read books (the kids LOVE books), go to the arcade and play together, go off on some crazy adventure (which we are known to do) but you wont find us on the couch doing a movie night. I just dont see how that is quality family time when no one is talking or interacting....Im all for watching shows/movies together but not labeling it family night. It is clearly not. Hubs and I will watch a movie together to relax and unwind after the kids are asleep. Again just my opinion.

Ok, getting to the point. I see some educational value in TV which is why its allowed at a minimum but I also can not ignore the doctors articles that are written about non educational TV given to children, period, and especially under the age of 2.

Im just the type of person that wants to make the most out of every moment with my family. I want to create great memories for them. I had an awesome childhood and remember sooo much of it and so did hubs. I want that for my children and so much more. Regardless how tired I am or how much I hurt (when pregnant), I want my childrens life to be fulfilled and exciting. Ok now Im just rambling...I know, this is brought to them by much more than limited TV....haha. But. Im. Just. Saying.

What does everyone else think?
