The kitchen, I want to stain the cabinets and the stair rails. We have wanted to do this from the beginning but had to hold back on a few projects. Now its time. Tuesday, we have a carpenter coming for some estimates on that! I want to do a dark wood like the rest of my furniture just for richness!
The big big change will be in the living room. I have had the same decor in my living room for about 6 years now. I have always been happy with it and it never bothered me until now. It still doesnt bother me but I need something new. Im going to re-upholster the couches, put up wainscoting, repaint and all......Ive been searching on line and in mags for inspiration. I want something still cozy but fresh and clean. Here are a few pictures that Ive been looking at.
The first picture is a picture of the wainscoting, the same pattern we did for Quinnies room but I saw a show where they painted it black....I need this! So Im thinking black wainscotting with a white wall above.
Hubs totally digs the purple in this living room....I like it a lot too, so it seems that we may go with purple but incorporate tons of white to brighten it up.
This is pretty too, I love the splash of green

The colors are just so pretty together....the actual decor on walls not too crazy about but this pics are mainly for color combos
I love love this...imagine this with the black wainscoting and splashes of purple.....Yes Im a little over the top but I want rooms to reflect me.
Another room with purple that I love, in this rooms case we would add more black because I have deep black wood furniture
I think I like the freshness of this room with the green, I wouldnt have the tree pillows but I like the color combo....just not sure its me.
Im pretty lucky that my hubs is on board with this huge project! Hes totally open to different color pallets too! He picked the purple room! Im still doing some searching so I anticipate to start this project in the next month possibly, if Im pretty comfortable with what I've chosen as far as colors and fabrics for the couches are concerned.
What do you all think of these ideas....any one have any other color combos that go well together?
You have some great inspiration rooms here Trish. I say go with what is reflecting both your personalities. Perhaps you took a special vacation and something inspired you ( that is what happened when we went to Arizona, we fell in love with the Spanish flair, and churches...hence our home is very reflective of that. Could be colors in a pillow. Have fun in the process.
